Kitende Reigns Supreme Again as Wakiso Zone Champions

St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende solidified their dominance in the USSSA Wakiso Zone Boys’ football championship with a commanding 2-0 victory over longtime foes Buddo SS in Tuesday’s final at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

Prolific forward Arafat Nkoola gave Kitende the early advantage with a composed finish in the first half, while Santos Agok Manyiel sealed the win with a decisive strike after the break.

The win not only underlined Kitende’s regional supremacy but also marked their fifth title in the zone, adding to their previous conquests in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2024.

In the third-place showdown, Standard High School Zzana held off a spirited Greenlight Islamic side to win 2-1. Goals from Abubaker Ssekamatte and Benon Lutaaya ensured Zzana claimed the bronze medal, while Elvis Kimuli netted a late consolation for Greenlight.

Elsewhere, Kyadondo SS stormed past Madinah Islamic SS with a 3-0 thumping to secure fifth place.

The match belonged to Junior Iniesta Odinga, who bagged a sensational hat-trick to lead his team to victory.

With the top five teams securing tickets to the national championships set for May in Ngora District, Wakiso District will be represented by St. Mary’s Kitende, Buddo SS, Standard High Zzana, Greenlight Islamic, and Kyadondo SS.

In the girls’ final, St. Noa Girls Secondary School Zzana edged Rines SS in a tightly contested match. Sylvia Kabene’s lone goal proved the difference, handing St. Noa a well-deserved title win.
