The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has slapped BUL FC’s head coach, Abbey Kikomeko, with a six-month ban from all football-related engagements.
This comes in the aftermath of a controversial incident during BUL’s Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal clash against Kitara FC at Butema Royal Park on Easter Sunday.
According to FUFA’s disciplinary decision, Kikomeko exhibited unsporting behavior when he physically confronted a steward and issued verbal threats towards match officials, drawing the Federation’s disciplinary hammer.
As a result, the seasoned tactician will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, with his suspension set to run into the early stages of the next campaign.
In addition to the ban, Kikomeko has been ordered to pay a fine of Shs5 million as part of the sanctions.
The development is a major setback for BUL FC as they will now navigate the crucial tail end of the season without their head coach on the touchline.
