Gomba Sets Sights on Sixth Masaza Cup Crown as Preparations Intensify

Record Masaza Cup champions Gomba have officially ignited their 2025 campaign, with eyes firmly set on clinching a historic sixth title.

In a spirited show of community support, Gomba East Member of Parliament, Hon. Ssazi Godfrey, has injected UGX 15 million into the team’s preparation efforts ahead of the prestigious Buganda Kingdom football tournament.

The generous contribution was announced during a strategic meeting held at Mulengera Sports Arena in Nsangi, chaired by Gomba’s Ssaza Head of Sports, Owek. Kimuli Robert.

Hon. Ssazi, in his address, commended the tournament’s local organizing committee, under the stewardship of Chairman Musasizi Andrew, for their unwavering commitment and meticulous planning.

“This contribution is just the beginning, together with the people of Gomba, I pledge continued support to ensure we lift that sixth trophy.”

Chairman Musasizi, while acknowledging the MP’s contribution, called on more stakeholders and well-wishers to rally behind the team.

“We’re grateful to everyone who has shown belief in this journey. The mission is clear, bringing home title number six,” Musasizi stated.

In a symbolic move to mark their rich legacy, Gomba has upgraded their team emblem by incorporating five stars, each representing a Masaza Cup triumph.
