The 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup quarterfinals ignited on Sunday, 28th September, with thrilling first-leg encounters staged across four venues in the Kingdom.
Six goals were registered on the day, with Kyaggwe, Buweekula, and Bugerere drawing first blood while Mawokota held giants Ssingo to a stalemate.
Last season’s runners-up Kyaggwe sent out a clear message of intent with a commanding 2-0 victory over Ssese at Bishop SS playground in Mukono.
David Mugalu broke the deadlock in the 19th minute before James Innocent struck late in the 88th to hand Kyaggwe a priceless cushion heading into the return leg.

Elsewhere, Buweekula snatched a slim but vital 1-0 away win against Busujju at Kakaindu playground.
The competition’s current top scorer, Jimmy Kalema, continued his red-hot form by netting the decisive strike for coach Flex Ssekabunza’s men.
In Ntejeru, Bugerere outmuscled Buluuli 2-1 in front of their lively supporters. Goals from Mike Katumwa and Osman Mayanja secured the win, while Levis Barasaa grabbed a consolation for the visitors.

Meanwhile, in the headline clash at Buwama Community ground, three-time champions Mawokota frustrated Ssingo in a goalless draw.
Both sides had their moments but neither could find the cutting edge, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg.
The decisive return legs are slated for Sunday, 5th October, with semifinal places at stake.
