Wakiso Giants Lead the Charge as FUFA Big League Heats Up

The FUFA Big League served up another thrilling weekend as Wakiso Giants FC shone brightest, dispatching Nebbi Central FC 4–2 in a captivating six-goal encounter that left fans on their feet.

At the HAMZ Stadium, Wakiso Giants produced a performance worthy of their promotion dreams. Sharp, expressive, and ruthless, they tore apart Nebbi Central with delightful attacking play.

Ankunda Annest led the charge with a well-taken brace, while the ever-reliable Bashir Mutanda added the third to continue his impressive scoring streak.

Bugembe Issa sealed the victory with a stunning free-kick that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.

The win keeps Wakiso’s resurgence alive and kicking. After a narrow 3–2 defeat to Young Elephants on opening day, they have stormed back stronger, beating Kiyinda Boys 2–0 away, drawing 1–1 with Kigezi Home Boys, and thumping Mbale Heroes 4–1 in Matchday 4, where Mutanda bagged a memorable hat-trick.

Now unbeaten in four straight games, the Purple Sharks look more determined than ever to reclaim their Premier League status.

Elsewhere, Kaaro Karungi FC dismantled Onduparaka FC 3–0 in one of the weekend’s standout results, displaying sharp attacking intent and clinical finishing.

Kataka FC edged Mbale Heroes 1–0 in a tightly contested Eastern derby, while Iganga United, Bunyaruguru United, and CATDA FC were all held to goalless draws by their resilient opponents, Paida Black Angels, Kigezi Home Boys, and Blacks Power FC respectively.
