Maroons FC have received a significant lift ahead of their midweek Uganda Premier League duel against Police FC, following the full recovery of midfielder Ivan Asaba from a concussion setback.
The industrious playmaker, who sustained the head injury during a practice match against Vipers SC, has been declared fit and cleared for selection as the Prisons side visits the Cops on Wednesday at Kiira Road Arena.
Asaba’s return injects renewed optimism into the Maroons camp, having endured several weeks on the sidelines. He was an unused substitute in their season opener against BUL FC before missing subsequent fixtures against UPDF and Calvary FC.
Currently, Maroons sit 10th on the log with four points, a single point behind their opponents Police FC who occupy sixth with five points. The Cops have registered one victory, two stalemates, and a single defeat, while Maroons’ record stands at one win, one draw, and two losses from their opening encounters.
History slightly tilts in Maroons’ favor in this fixture. In their last seven meetings, Maroons have triumphed three times, Police have managed one win, while three encounters have ended evenly poised.
