UGANDA PREMEIR LEAGUE

Forces Derby Takes Centre Stage as UPDF Host Police at Bombo

Thursday, November 6, 2025

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League returns with thrilling midweek clashes, headlined by the highly anticipated ‘forces derby’ between UPDF FC and Police FC at the Bombo Barracks Ground.

Both teams enter the encounter with contrasting fortunes but equal determination. UPDF, under Alex Gitta, are desperate to return to winning ways after suffering back-to-back defeats to Maroons and URA.

The Army side has managed only one victory in four outings and sit third from the bottom with just three points, making Thursday’s fixture a crucial one in their bid to climb the table.

Police, meanwhile, travel to Bombo in high spirits after edging Maroons 2-1 in their previous match.

The Cops have collected eight points from five matches and could move joint top with KCCA if they secure victory. Forward Bedia Ikamba will once again be the man to watch, having netted four goals in as many starts this season.

For UPDF, the attacking burden will rest on the shoulders of Samson Kigozi and Samuel Ssekamatte as they look to breach a Police defence that is yet to keep a clean sheet this campaign.

Elsewhere, at the FUFA Stadium in Kadiba, record league champions SC Villa welcome Kitara FC in a late kick-off.

The Jogoos will be eager to break their four-match winless run against the Bunyoro-based side, who have established themselves as one of the league’s toughest opponents.
