NEC Seek Revival as Kaddu Hunts First Win Aganst Calvary

NEC FC will be desperate to reignite their season when they welcome bottom-placed Calvary FC to the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Tuesday evening.

The Diehards have endured a sluggish campaign marked by only one victory in six outings and remain winless under newly appointed head coach Badru Kaddu, who took over from Hussein Mbalangu.

Calvary, marooned at the foot of the table with a solitary point, offer what appears to be a golden opportunity for NEC to steady their course.

The visitors travel to Lugogo wounded from back-to-back home defeats to Entebbe UPPC and UPDF, further widening their struggles in the opening phase of the league.

Kaddu acknowledges the bumpy start but remains confident that momentum can still swing in their favour.
“The beginning has been difficult, but this group is coachable and hungry to improve,” he said. “We must begin collecting victories, and our ambition is to hit 33 points by the end of the first round before speaking about title ambitions.”

NEC sit 12th on 6 points, five clear of Calvary and victory tonight would offer much-needed breathing space.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, record league champions SC Villa make the short trip to Bombo to battle UPDF, while Maroons host Lugazi at the Prisons Grounds in Luzira in another evenly poised encounter.
