AFCON 2025 – Zambia Head Coach Sichone Unveils Massive 55-Man Provisional Squad

Zambia head coach Moses Sichone has released an unusually large 55-man provisional squad as the Chipolopolo intensify their preparations for the AFCON 2025 finals in Morocco.

The list — which surpasses CAF’s recommended maximum of 50 players blends seasoned internationals with a bold wave of youthful prospects.

Notably, three youngsters who featured at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar, Abel Nyirongo, Christo Chitambala, and Jonathan Kalimina, have been rewarded with senior call-ups.

CAF had set November 24 as the cut-off date for nations to submit their provisional squads ahead of the continental showpiece, with final squad trimming expected in the weeks leading up to the tournament.
