FUFA Big League – Mbale Heroes Collapse Continues with Brutal 4–0 Defeat at Home

Mbale Heroes’ turbulent season plunged deeper into crisis on Thursday after suffering a crushing 4–0 defeat to Kigezi Home Boyz at the Mbale City Stadium in the FUFA Big League Match Day 10 action.

The embattled hosts endured a chaotic start, astonishingly kicking off the match with three players missing from the lineup before eventually assembling a complete team midway through the opening half.

Allan Gerald Egaku broke the deadlock in the 20th minute, setting the tone for a long afternoon for the home side.

With halftime approaching, Jumah Mukasa joined the score sheet, tucking home Kigezi’s second in the 42nd minute to tighten the grip on proceedings.

Mukasa returned from the break with fire, netting his second and the visitors’ third in the 54th minute, extinguishing any faint hopes Mbale Heroes might have held. Bashamu Mugwa later sealed the emphatic victory with a well-taken effort 13 minutes from time.

Mbale Heroes’ misery was compounded when defender Abraham Okello limped off through injury, condemning them to finish the match with ten men, an eerie reflection of the disarray that continues to plague their campaign.

The triumph lifts Kigezi Home Boyz to 16 points after 10 outings, preserving their unbeaten run and elevating them above Wakiso Giants into second place. Blacks Power remain perched at the summit with 19 points.

Down at the basement, Mbale Heroes remain ensnared in the relegation battle with just seven points, level with Paidha Black Angels.

Meanwhile in Iganga, Ntugasaze clinched a narrow 1–0 victory over hosts Iganga United at the Iganga Ssaza Ground. Abdallah Kawanguzi struck in the 47th minute to secure the win, before Iganga’s goalkeeper was shown a red card in the 78th minute for unsporting conduct.

Ntugasaze now rise to 6th on 14 points, while Iganga United fall to 8th with 13.

Match Day 10 continues on Friday as CATDA welcomes Kaaro Karungi to the Bugolobi Coffee Stadium in Kampala.
