The Uganda Cranes’ final squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations has officially been unveiled as anticipation builds ahead of the continental showpiece in Morocco.
Head coach Paul Put has confirmed a 28-man team that will carry the nation’s hopes at the tournament, trimming his earlier provisional list of 30 players.
Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago and defender David Owori are the two names that miss out on the final selection.
The Cranes have already touched down in Morocco, where they have set up camp to fine-tune preparations for the competition.
One of the standout inclusions in the squad is teenage sensation James Bogere. The young forward recently featured for Uganda at the U17 World Cup in Qatar and has earned his first senior AFCON call-up.
Bogere’s rise has been rapid, and his performances at junior level clearly convinced coach Put that he is ready for the demands of top-flight international football.
Uganda has been drawn into a challenging Group C that includes African heavyweights Nigeria, former champions Tunisia, and regional rivals Tanzania.
The Cranes will open their AFCON 2025 campaign against Tunisia on December 23 in Rabat, a fixture that could set the tone for their tournament.
