BUL Target Uganda Cup Qualification

BUL FC head coach Alex Isabirye has urged his players to stay fully focused as they prepare for a tough Stanbic Uganda Cup encounter away to Agape United Kotido FC on Thursday.

The Eastern Giants travel to Kotido in what is expected to be one of their most demanding away assignments of the competition, with the Jinja-based side facing a regional outfit that remains largely unknown to their technical team.

BUL go into the fixture with confidence after a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over UPDF FC in the Uganda Premier League, but Isabirye insists that past results will not matter in a knockout competition, especially when playing in unfamiliar territory.

The tactician admitted that scouting Agape United has proven difficult, leaving BUL with limited information about their opponents.

“We are playing a team which we really don’t have any idea about. We have tried to see at least 20% of how they behave but we are still struggling. The game won’t be easy and it’s always difficult to play such games,” Isabirye said.

Despite the uncertainty, the former URA FC coach maintained that BUL’s mission is clear, progress to the next round at all costs.

“The boys know exactly what we want. We need to go through, so we are going to do whatever it takes to see that we win the game,” he added.

BUL will, however, make the trip without Nicholas Mwere and Jerome Kirya, but Isabirye believes the squad has enough depth to handle the task.
