Allan Okello may already have played his final match in Vipers SC colours this season, following the Venoms’ commanding 2-0 victory over Mbarara City at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Swift Sports understands that the Ugandan international is on the verge of completing a high-profile move to Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC, with all parties involved having reached an agreement.
Reliable sources from Vipers SC, Young Africans, and the player’s camp confirm that the clubs have struck a deal, while Okello has already given his green light to the transfer. The only remaining steps are final paperwork and official unveiling.
The move is reported to be worth approximately USD 300,000, a significant fee considering Okello has just six months remaining on his current contract with the Ugandan champions.

Young Africans president Hersi Said is understood to have flown into Uganda on Friday, where he held crucial face-to-face talks with Vipers SC president Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, effectively sealing the deal.
Okello joined Vipers in September 2023 as a free agent after mutually terminating his contract with Algerian side AC Paradou. During his time at Kitende, the gifted playmaker has been instrumental, helping the Venoms secure both the Uganda Premier League and the Uganda Cup.
Renowned for his silky touch, vision, and dead-ball excellence, Okello is viewed as a major creative upgrade for Young Africans, who are keen on bolstering their squad as they push for greater success in the CAF Champions League.
Should the move be completed, Okello will walk a well-trodden path, becoming the latest Ugandan to don the famous green and yellow jersey of the Jangwani-based outfit, following in the footsteps of Gift Fred, Emmanuel Okwi, Diego Hamis, and Khalid Aucho.
