Former SC Villa forward Ivan Bogere is on the move once again after his stint with Tanzanian Premier League side Tabora United came to an end.
The Ugandan striker is currently a free agent after running down his contract with Tabora, a club he joined in August 2024 following his exit from record Uganda champions SC Villa. His time in Tanzania was relatively short but productive, as he managed to leave his mark before departure.
Bogere found the back of the net eight times across all competitions for Tabora United and also chipped in with a couple of assists, underlining his value as a reliable attacking option despite the club’s mixed fortunes.
The striker is best remembered locally for his prolific spell at Proline FC, where he played a pivotal role in their promotion to the Uganda Premier League during the 2018/19 season.
His domestic exploits earned him national recognition, with Bogere becoming a key member of the Uganda U-20 (Hippos) side.
He enjoyed a glittering youth international career, winning silver at the 2021 U-20 AFCON in Mauritania.
A year earlier, he had already announced himself on the continental stage by claiming the golden boot at the 2020 CECAFA U-20 tournament in Arusha, before adding another top scorer honour in the AFCON U-20 qualifiers, where he netted five goals.
In addition to Proline and SC Villa, Bogere has also turned out for Wakiso Giants in the Uganda Premier League, further cementing his reputation as one of the most experienced Ugandan forwards of his generation.
