Buganda Region Confirms Draws for Stanbic Uganda Cup Preliminaries

The Buganda Regional Football Association has officially released the draws for the preliminary stages of the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The event took place on Monday, December 1, at the Royal Manachi Hotel in Mengo, bringing together 38 teams eager to begin their journey in Uganda’s biggest knockout competition.

The draw was overseen by BRFA Chief Executive Officer Brian Ssejemba, joined by several District Football Association chairpersons, club representatives, and BRFA Vice Chairman Technical Abu Zikusooka Ssenabulya.

Buganda Region has been allocated four slots for the national Round of 64, setting up an intense qualification pathway that will run through four competitive rounds.

Action Begins December 6–7

The first preliminary round kicks off this weekend, featuring six knockout fixtures. Winners from these ties will advance to the round of 32, where they will be joined by teams from the fourth, fifth, and sixth divisions, non-league sides, and the 16 Buganda Regional League clubs.

Progression will continue through the round of 16 and the preliminary quarterfinals before the four regional representatives are confirmed at the end of the fourth round. Across all stages, a total of 34 matches will be played.
