BUL FC Stumble Again as Entebbe UPPC Claim Commanding 2-0 Triumph

BUL FC endured another painful evening at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, falling 2-0 to a spirited Entebbe UPPC side in a Uganda Premier League showdown on Thursday.

Ambrose Kigozi stole the spotlight with a superb brace that powered the visitors to a fully deserved victory.

Despite BUL’s energetic start with early attempts from Bakali Mugunda and Karim Ndugwa flashing agonisingly wide, the hosts once again lacked the cutting edge needed to turn pressure into goals.

Ibrahim Mugulusi came closest for BUL in the 12th minute after Denis Sewagudde expertly outpaced his marker and floated in a delightful cross, only for Mugulusi to nod inches off target.

UPPC goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa later produced a brilliant stop to keep out Reagan Kalyowa’s low drive in the 29th minute, keeping the contest goalless at halftime.

Immediately after the restart, UPPC struck. A slick passing combination carved open the BUL defence, allowing Kigozi to slot home the opener in the 47th minute.

With BUL still reeling, Kigozi returned to haunt them again in the 55th minute, doubling the visitors’ advantage and firmly swinging momentum in their favour.

As the game wore on, UPPC grew more confident, dictating the rhythm and shutting down BUL’s attempts at a comeback.

The defeat piles more pressure on head coach Abbey Kikomeko, whose side has now suffered consecutive losses to Kitara and Entebbe UPPC.

The result elevates UPPC to fifth in the standings on 13 points, while BUL slip to eighth with 10 points from eight matches—a worrying slide for the Njeru-based outfit.
