With the November international break now wrapped up, African club football roars back to life as the group stages of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup officially get underway across the continent.
Defending champions Pyramids begin their mission to retain the Champions League crown, while continental giants such as 12-time record holders Al Ahly, Espérance de Tunis, Mamelodi Sundowns, RS Berkane, and AS FAR all brace for the opening battles of a long campaign.
In the Confederation Cup, former title winners Zamalek and USM Alger lead a strong roster that features established heavyweights and exciting new faces, including Nairobi United who are tasting group-stage football for the first time.
Matchday One sets the tone with a mouth-watering lineup of fixtures. In the Champions League, Pyramids host Rivers United, Al Ahly welcome JS Kabylie, while Sundowns duel with St. Éloi Lupopo.
RS Berkane entertain Zambia’s Power Dynamos, Espérance face Stade Malien, and Tanzanian champions Young Africans clash with AS FAR Rabat. Sunday’s billing sees Simba take on Petro Atlético in Dar es Salaam.
The Confederation Cup also opens with fixtures promising early drama. Zamalek will be at home to ZESCO United, Al Masry lock horns with Kaizer Chiefs, and debutants Nairobi United begin their journey with a tough trip to face Wydad in Casablanca.

CAF has scheduled two matchdays before the continent shifts attention to the TotalEnergies AFCON Morocco 2025. The club competitions will then pause and resume in January 2026, raising the stakes for teams aiming to secure early group-stage momentum.
