Calvary Football Club has pulled off a major coup with the acquisition of Mubarak Mitala, a tireless and highly-rated midfielder, on a two-year contract.
The move comes as the Yumbe-based side fine-tunes preparations for their first-ever season in the Uganda Premier League.
Mitala, whose boundless energy and sharp ball distribution have earned him plaudits in Uganda’s football circles, arrives from Lugazi FC.
His quest for more playing time and the thrill of fresh challenges were key factors in his switch to the newly promoted outfit.

Known for his relentless drive and hunger to dominate the midfield, Mitala’s arrival adds muscle and flair to a Calvary squad that is rapidly taking shape under head coach Jimmy Kintu.
The club has made it clear: survival is not the only goal, they aim to compete, excite, and stamp their identity in the top flight.
The people of Yumbe are already buzzing in anticipation as the club prepares for its historic UPL opener against Police FC on 27th September 2025 at the Midigo Primary School Playground.
The encounter is expected to turn the modest ground into a carnival of football passion, with the home fans eager to witness their side’s top-tier breakthrough.
