Charles Lukwago Reunites with KCCA FC on Two-Year Deal

KCCA FC have confirmed the return of experienced shot-stopper Charles Lukwago, securing his signature on a two-year contract.

The former Kasasiro Boys captain makes his long-awaited comeback after parting ways with South African outfit Venda Academy FC, where his contract expired in June.

Lukwago had been close to sealing a move to Siwelele FC (formerly SuperSport United), but the deal collapsed in its final stages, paving the way for his Kampala return.

This reunion marks a fresh chapter for the 30-year-old goalkeeper, who previously served KCCA with distinction between 2017 and 2021 before venturing abroad to Ethiopian powerhouse St. George.

For KCCA, his arrival is a major boost to their goalkeeping ranks, which leaned heavily on Mutwalib Mugolofa last campaign.

Lukwago’s vast experience both with the Uganda Cranes and several domestic clubs makes him a dependable figure between the posts.

Over the years, the seasoned custodian has turned out for Lweza, Victoria University, Proline FC, Hawassa City (Ethiopia), and St. George, carving a reputation as one of Uganda’s most consistent goalkeepers.

Lukwago now becomes the latest face in KCCA’s active transfer business, joining Enock Walusimbi, Rogers Mugisha, Lazaro Bwambale, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, and Herbert Achai, who have already been unveiled this window.
