Express FC are edging closer to securing the services of former Wakiso Giants midfielder Blanchar Mulamba as they prepare for activity in the forthcoming mid-season transfer window, Swift Sports understands.
Mulamba is currently unattached, having mutually parted ways with Wakiso Giants at the start of the ongoing campaign, a situation that has made him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen without incurring transfer fees.
The Red Eagles are expected to be active when the window opens, with Mulamba identified as one of the players under serious consideration as the club seeks to bolster its midfield options for the second half of the season.
In addition to Mulamba, Express FC are also holding advanced discussions with left back Disan Galiwango. As previously reported by this website, negotiations have progressed well, with an agreement believed to be close.
Mulamba brings with him a diverse footballing background. He rose through the ranks at Kibuli SS before passing through Big Talent Academy and the Mbarara City Junior Team. He later featured for St. Lawrence University in the University Football League, further sharpening his competitive edge.
Beyond league football, Mulamba has also been a familiar face in Buganda’s prestigious Masaza Cup, representing Buweekula, Gomba and Butambala. His performances in the annual tournament earned him a move to top-flight football, culminating in his Uganda Premier League debut with Wakiso Giants in 2023.
