FUFA Sets Date for Stanbic Uganda Cup Quarterfinal Draw

The countdown to the decisive stage of Uganda’s premier knockout competition has officially begun, with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) confirming key details for the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal draw.

In a communication released by the FUFA Competitions Department, it has been announced that the draw will take place on Thursday, 26th March 2026, at the Plascon Headquarters, one of the tournament’s key sponsors. The event is scheduled to commence at exactly 9:00 AM, setting the stage for what promises to be an intriguing path to the semifinals.

This year’s last-eight lineup presents a compelling mix of top-flight pedigree and underdog ambition. Seven sides from the Uganda Premier League have successfully navigated their way into the quarterfinals, joined by one spirited representative from the regional ranks.

Leading the fairytale charge are Happy Boys Kagaba, a Buganda Regional League outfit from Kassanda, who have defied the odds to reach this stage. They will be up against established top-tier sides including KCCA, Vipers SC, SC Villa, URA FC, NEC FC, Express FC, and Kitara FC.

The quarterfinal ties will be contested over a single leg, heightening the stakes for all participants. In the event that teams are level after regulation time, the outcome will be decided via a penalty shootout, eliminating the possibility of extra time and adding further drama to the encounters.

Fans will not have to wait long for the action, as the quarterfinal fixtures are slated to be played across the weekend of 4th to 5th April 2026.
