South Sudan Premier League outfit Jamus SC have expressed strong interest in acquiring NEC FC players Joseph Dhata and Atendele Geriga as they plan to strengthen their squad in the upcoming January transfer window.
The South Sudanese pair have been key figures for NEC FC since the club earned promotion to the Uganda Premier League, delivering consistent performances that have drawn attention beyond Uganda’s borders.

Dhata’s situation, however, could present a challenge for Jamus. In August, he committed his future to NEC FC by penning a fresh three-year contract that runs until June 30, 2028.
On the other hand, Atendele’s contract status makes him a more accessible target.
The defender joined NEC FC in January 2024 from Arua Hill on a two-year agreement, which is set to lapse next month, placing him firmly on Jamus SC’s radar.
Concrete sources have learnt that Jamus SC are seriously weighing the possibility of securing both players as they aim to bolster their squad depth and competitiveness in the second half of the season.
Dhata brings a wealth of experience, having previously turned out for Vipers SC, Express FC before his move to NEC FC.
Atendele also boasts a solid domestic résumé, with past spells at Onduparaka, Wakiso Giants and Arua Hill.
Jamus SC are no strangers to recruiting talent from the Uganda Premier League.
The club’s current squad includes several former UPL players such as Hassan Wasswa Dazo, Jaffar Kerepi, Martin Otwao, Ezra Bida, Rashid Okocha and Jude Ssemugabi, underlining their continued interest in Ugandan-based footballers.
