Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have boosted their technical set-up with the addition of former Uganda Cranes defender Simeon Masaba.
According to reports from senior journalist Hassan Badru Zziwa, Masaba has officially joined the Kasasiro Boys’ backroom staff at a time when the club is seeking answers following a difficult run of form.
KCCA come into this development after suffering back-to-back defeats at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, losing to Entebbe UPPC FC and NEC FC, results that have raised concern among fans and club stakeholders.
Defensively, the Lugogo-based side has struggled for consistency, having conceded 15 goals in 16 league matches, an area that has forced the club to look for immediate reinforcement and tactical stability.
Masaba, a respected figure in Ugandan football and remembered for his solid displays with the Uganda Cranes, brings valuable experience to the club. His coaching journey has seen him serve at several teams including URA FC, Onduparaka FC, and BUL FC, where he built a reputation for organizing disciplined and compact defensive structures.
At KCCA, Masaba is expected to work alongside the existing technical team to improve the team’s defensive coordination while maintaining the club’s traditionally attacking brand of football.
After 16 games played, KCCA currently sit 6th on the league table with 30 points, seven behind leaders Vipers SC, and will be aiming to steady their campaign as the second round continues.
The Kasasiro Boys will return to league action on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, with a tough fixture against BUL FC, a match that could provide an early glimpse of Masaba’s impact within the squad.
