KCCA FC continued their impressive run of form with a commanding 3-0 victory over rivals Express FC in the Uganda Premier League clash played at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Wednesday.
The Kasasiro Boys dominated proceedings from the outset and eventually secured their fourth consecutive league win in the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite showing some early resistance, the Red Eagles struggled to cope with KCCA’s attacking intensity. Express handed a start to Gift Ali in the derby, but the forward lacked the sharpness required to match the energy of KCCA midfielders Brian Jjara and Joel Sserunjogi.
KCCA’s pressure paid off in the 13th minute when Sammy Sebaduka rose highest to head home from Herbert Achayi’s precise delivery, giving the hosts a deserved lead.
The momentum remained with KCCA and they doubled their advantage in the 29th minute. Sebaduka turned provider this time, setting up Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who calmly finished to make it 2-0 after the hosts capitalized on relentless pressing that prevented Express from building from the back.
The hosts sealed the victory in the 61st minute through Saidi Mayanja, who powered in a diving header after meeting a well-delivered cross from Shafic Kwikiriza on the right flank.
The convincing triumph ensured that KCCA completed a season double over their old Kampala rivals while strengthening their push near the top of the standings.
Following the result, KCCA remain third on the Uganda Premier League table with 42 points from 20 matches, while Express continue to struggle in 11th place with 20 points from the same number of games.
