Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC have bolstered their midfield department after completing the signing of talented midfielder Amuli Mukasa, Xavi Sports Media can reliably confirm.
Mukasa has penned a two-year employment contract with the Simon Peter Mugerwa-managed side as the club continues to strengthen its squad during the ongoing transfer window.
The highly-rated midfielder arrives at Lugazi FC following an impressive run in the Stanbic Uganda Cup with non-league outfit Football Classroom, where he played a key role in their historic journey to the Round of 32.
Mukasa was part of the team that produced a shock result on Monday after dismantling Uganda Premier League side Calvary FC with a convincing 3-1 victory in the Round of 64.
Mukasa’s rise has not gone unnoticed in recent years, with both URA FC and record league champions SC Villa previously expressing interest in securing his services back in 2024.
The midfielder boasts vast experience across various competitive platforms in Ugandan football, having previously featured for Kiyinda Boys FC in the FUFA Big League.
He also made his mark in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup, turning out for Ssingo Ssaza during the 2022 edition where he helped the team reach the semifinals.
Away from league football, Mukasa is also an active participant in the cultural football competitions, having represented Nkima Clan in the Bika Bya Baganda tournament.
His arrival comes shortly after Lugazi FC confirmed the signing of midfielder Hamza Mulambuzi from Mbarara City, also on a two-year deal, highlighting the club’s intent to build a stronger and more competitive squad.
Currently, Lugazi FC sit 11th on the Uganda Premier League table with 15 points, and the addition of Mukasa is expected to provide more creativity, stability, and energy in the middle of the park as the season progresses.
