Mary’s Assumption SS Buddo Set for Historic USSSA Debut

Mary’s Assumption Secondary School Buddo, located in Kisozi–Buddo, is preparing to make history with its first-ever appearance in the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Championship this year.

The school will be stepping onto the national stage for the very first time in the prestigious secondary schools’ competition, marking a significant milestone in its growing sports journey.

Although this will be their maiden USSSA campaign, Mary’s Assumption SS is not entirely new to competitive action. The institution has previously been active in the ACIETEKA Games, a platform that brings together Catholic-founded schools in spirited sporting contests.

As part of their build-up to the forthcoming championship, the team has already tested its readiness in two preparatory fixtures.

They secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Titans FC in their opening friendly before facing a sterner test against Kisubi Mapeera SS, where they fell 3-0.

The mixed results have offered valuable lessons and insight as the technical bench fine-tunes the squad ahead of the tournament.

The side is under the stewardship of head coach Nichola Sserugo, who is working alongside assistant coach Ssekate Timothy and fellow tactician Musoke Bradley.

The trio is focused on sharpening the team’s tactical discipline, physical conditioning, and mental resilience as the countdown to the championship continues.

With anticipation building around the school community, Mary’s Assumption SS Buddo is determined to make a memorable impression in its inaugural USSSA appearance.

Meanwhile, admission for all classes remains open. For more information, interested parents and guardians can contact the school administration on 0702989025 or 0784483636.
