The 2025 Buganda Masaza Cup semi-final cast is now complete, with Kyaggwe, Bugerere, Buweekula, and Ssingo marching into the last four after a thrilling weekend of quarter-final return leg duels across Buganda.
All four sides showcased resilience and tactical discipline to fend off spirited opponents and book their semi-final berths in Uganda’s most prestigious cultural football competition.
In Migyeera, Bugerere held their nerve to force a 1–1 draw against Buluuli, sealing progression with a 3–2 aggregate victory.

Isaac Ruguruka Musuga was on target for Bugerere, while Patrick Odie’s strike for Buluuli was merely a consolation after Bugerere’s 2–1 first-leg triumph.
Meanwhile, in Mityana, Ssingo edged Mawokota 1–0 thanks to an own goal from Mike Kasule, who was pressured into a mistake by forward Shaban Kayongo.
The narrow win was enough to send the 2015 champions through 1–0 on aggregate, after the first leg ended goalless in Buwama.
Over in Mubende, Buweekula and Busujju battled to a pulsating 1–1 draw. Alex Taremwa opened the scoring for the home side before Lauben Lubwama leveled matters for Busujju.
However, Buweekula’s earlier 1–0 away victory proved decisive, giving them a 2–1 aggregate advantage.
In the Lake Victoria Islands, Kyaggwe, last year’s runners-up continued their impressive run, drawing 1–1 with Ssese at Lutoboka playground.
Muhammad Sabil handed Ssese an early lead, but the ever-reliable David Mugalu struck back to ensure Kyaggwe progressed 3–1 on aggregate, building on their 2–0 first-leg win in Mukono.
The semi-final fixtures now promise mouthwatering encounters:
- Bugerere vs Ssingo
- Buweekula vs Kyaggwe
Both first legs will take place on 18th October 2025, with the decisive return ties scheduled a week later on 25th October 2025.
The much-anticipated grand finale is set for 1st November 2025 at the refurbished Hamz Stadium (Nakivubo Memorial Grounds) in Kampala, a fitting venue for the climax of a competition that continues to capture the imagination of football lovers across Buganda.
