The fortress of Buwama Ground erupted in celebration on Sunday 31, as Mawokota dismantled Bugerere’s proud unbeaten streak with a dominant 3-0 victory in a decisive Masaza Cup Matchday 9 encounter.
Heading into the clash, Bugerere carried an impressive run of eight games without defeat, three wins and five draws but Mawokota were in no mood for mercy.
The hosts stormed ahead with an electrifying first-half display that saw Sunny Kaija and Collins Ocatre fire them into a commanding 2-0 lead.

Bugerere, desperate to salvage their record, pressed relentlessly in search of a lifeline.
Yet, Mawokota’s backline stood like an iron wall, shutting down every attempt and frustrating the visitors.
The home crowd was sent into raptures late in the game when Arafa Nkola unleashed a thunderbolt strike, sealing a statement win and extinguishing Bugerere’s unbeaten dream.
The victory catapults Mawokota into second place in the Masengere Group with 15 points, just four adrift of group leaders Buweekula, who themselves secured a hard-fought 2-1 triumph over Buvuma.
Bugerere, despite their setback, remain in third with 14 points as the group stage edges towards a nail-biting climax.
Next up, Buweekula will entertain Kyadondo at Buwama Ground on Sunday, September 7, while Bugerere face a tricky away trip to Bulemeezi at Kasaza Kosovo in Luweero.
