Mbarara City FC Part Ways with Head Coach Simon Peter Mugerwa

Mbarara City FC have officially parted ways with head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa following a disappointing start to the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season.

The club announced the decision on Tuesday, November 11, through its official social media platforms, confirming that Mugerwa and his entire technical team have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect.

Mugerwa’s dismissal comes after a tough run of form that saw the Ankole Lions manage only two points from six matches, recording two draws and four defeats, a streak that has left them hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone.

His departure makes him the fourth coach to lose his job this season, following the exits of Hussein Mbalangu (NEC FC),Jimmy Kintu (Calvary FC), and Godfrey Wasswa (Paida Black Angels)

The club is expected to announce an interim coach in the coming days as they look to stabilize performances and reignite their push up the league table.
