Mozambique Set for Crucial World Cup Qualifier Against Uganda Cranes

Mozambique’s national football team, the Mambas, has confirmed its travel arrangements ahead of their highly anticipated clash with Uganda Cranes in the fifth round of the Canada-Mexico-USA FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Initially slated to take place at Zimpeto National Stadium, the encounter was forced to relocate after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) deemed the facility unfit to host international fixtures.

Following a thorough evaluation of alternatives, Mozambique’s Football Federation (FMF) settled on Cairo International Stadium in Egypt as the new battleground.

The traveling contingent, comprising local-based players, the technical bench, and federation officials, is scheduled to depart from Maputo on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Meanwhile, foreign-based stars will link up with the rest of the squad directly in Egypt, finalizing the team setup for this crucial showdown.

Earlier today, head coach Chiquinho Conde revealed his final 25-man squad set to represent Mozambique in this decisive phase of the qualifiers.

With the stakes high, the Mambas will be aiming to make a strong statement as they pursue their dream of featuring on the grandest stage of world football.
