The Uganda Cranes camp has been handed a massive reinforcement with the arrival of skipper Khalid Aucho and lethal forward Steven Desse Mukwala as preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers gather momentum.
The duo, both plying their trade in Tanzania, Aucho with Singida Black Stars and Mukwala at Simba SC, were confirmed as late inclusions by FUFA on Saturday.

Their addition increases the provisional squad to 30 players, adding depth and experience ahead of the high-stakes Group G encounters.
Initially, Aucho had been overlooked by head coach Paul Put due to uncertainties surrounding his club situation.
However, FUFA confirmed that the midfield general, together with the prolific Mukwala, will officially join the camp on Monday, September 1, at FUFA Hotel, Kisaasi.
