Three-time Buganda Masaza Cup champions Bulemeezi Ssaza Team have officially unveiled the leadership committee that will guide the team into the 2026 edition of the prestigious competition.
The announcement was made on Wednesday at the Ssaza headquarters in Bbowa by Ssaza chief Kangaawo Dr. Ronald Mulondo, confirming a blend of continuity and fresh appointments within the management structure.
Businessman Frank Mutalaga has been entrusted with the role of patron, a position expected to provide strategic backing and financial oversight. Meanwhile, Ssalongo Jonathan Yiga retains his seat as chairman, ensuring stability at the helm.
In the administrative setup, Innocent Mugabo has been appointed team manager. Hajjat Lukiya Tebesigwa takes on the role of vice chairperson in charge of administration, while Juma Kasolo, who also serves as the Minister for Sports in the Ffumbe clan, will oversee technical matters as vice chairman.
Patrick Kaweesi has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with Lydia Najjuma handling treasury responsibilities. Security operations will be under Moses Mutumba, as Emma Mugeere leads the media and communications department. Akii Sadik Muhammad completes the lineup as the team doctor.
Bulemeezi head into the 2026 campaign with a strong pedigree, having lifted the Masaza Cup title on three occasions—2012, 2019, and 2023.
The upcoming tournament is tentatively scheduled to kick off on June 3, with reigning champions Buweekula Ssaza Team aiming to defend the crown they secured after defeating Ssingo Ssaza Team in last year’s final.
