Ugandan forward Happy Sadat Anaku has officially completed a move to USL Championship side Hartford Athletic, marking a new milestone in his steadily rising football journey.
The former KCCA FC attacker has reportedly signed a two-year employment contract that will see him remain with the American outfit until 2028, in what is seen as a bold step aimed at reviving and sharpening his career after a challenging spell in Europe.
Hartford Athletic confirmed the capture of the pacey forward through their official club platforms, welcoming the Ugandan with strong praise for his style of play and potential impact.
“Ugandan forward Sadat Anaku joins us after netting 5 goals in 14 games with KCCA. He brings pace, power and relentless work rate,” Hartford Athletic’s statement partly read.

Anaku is a product of the KCCA Soccer Academy, where he rose through the ranks with remarkable promise. His explosive speed, sharp intelligence, calm finishing and ability to take on defenders quickly made him one of the academy’s most exciting prospects.
His rapid growth at youth level soon translated into senior football, where he continued to impress, eventually earning himself a dream move abroad.
In 2022, Anaku secured a transfer to Scottish side Dundee United, becoming one of the few Ugandan youngsters to break into European football at such an early stage.
However, his time in Scotland did not unfold as expected, with recurring injuries disrupting his momentum and limiting his chances to cement a regular place in the squad.
Despite the setbacks, Anaku’s move to the United States now offers him a fresh platform to rebuild, compete and prove his worth on a demanding stage.
The transfer also adds him to the growing list of Ugandan players earning opportunities in America, a pathway increasingly viewed as a strong alternative for young talents seeking development, exposure and professional growth.
