Police FC have ushered in a new era of leadership by entrusting seasoned midfielder Saidi Kyeyune with the captain’s armband as the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season kicks off this Friday, September 26.
Kyeyune, a marquee signing in the recently concluded transfer window, arrived at the Cops after running down his contract with Express FC.
The midfield dynamo is no stranger to the UPL, having previously commanded battles in the middle of the park for URA FC and also flying the Ugandan flag abroad with Sudanese giants El-Merriekh.

The new captain will be flanked by last season’s skipper Samuel Kayongo as first assistant, while the versatile Tonny Kiwalazi has been named second assistant.
Police FC have been one of the busiest sides in the market, securing the services of Richard Matovu, Stephen Namaisi, Derrick Maviiri, Benon Tahomera, and Lawrence Tezikya. International flavor has also been added with the arrival of Sizwe Mario from Eswatini and Congolese forward Bedia Ikamba.
To maintain continuity, the Cops extended the stays of dependable trio Brian James Obedi, Emmanuel Mugume, and goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.
With coach Matia Lule at the helm and the Kiira Road Police Arena in Kamwokya ready to roar, the Cops will begin their campaign under the floodlights against Mbarara City on opening day.
