Uganda Cranes defender Savio Kabugo Ginola has expressed deep gratitude for his wife, calling her the most remarkable person in his life. In an exclusive interview with Xavi Sports Media, Kabugo opened up about their journey, highlighting the crucial role she has played in shaping his personal and professional life.
Kabugo recounted how their paths first crossed during his Senior One days at Kawempe Parents. “It was challenging when I first met her,” he admitted. “But one day, while walking through the streets of Kamwokya, fate had its way, I saw her approaching from the opposite direction. Shocked yet determined, I took the chance to approach her.”
To win her trust, Kabugo first established a friendship, laying the foundation for a relationship that would stand the test of time. What began as a simple bond blossomed into an enduring partnership, proving to be one of his greatest blessings.
As his football career advanced, Kabugo’s wife remained a steady force, offering unwavering support through his victories and struggles. He recalled a particularly dark period when an injury nearly ended his career. “I almost gave up on football,” he revealed. “During that time, I turned to alcohol, and many lost faith in me. But she never wavered. She stayed composed, continuously counseling and encouraging me.”
Her steadfast belief in him rekindled his hope, inspiring him to battle his demons and reclaim his football career. Kabugo credits her for standing by his side during his lowest moments, guiding him back to the man he is today.
Kabugo acknowledges that his wife’s love and support have been pivotal in his journey, turning moments of despair into stepping stones for success. Through her unwavering faith in him, he found the strength to rise again and continue chasing his dreams. As he looks to the future, he remains committed to honoring the person who has been his pillar of strength through all of life’s challenges.
