FUFA Big League outfit Soltilo Bright Stars FC have pulled off a major coup with the signing of former Uganda Cranes rock-solid defender Savio Kabugo, Swift Sports has learned.
Kabugo, who was instrumental in guiding Gaddafi FC (now rebranded as Entebbe UPPC FC) to topflight promotion last season, joins the Stars as a free agent.
His arrival is seen as a massive boost to the club’s rebuilding project following their relegation from the Uganda Premier League, which ended their proud 12-year stay in the top division.

Renowned for his leadership and no-nonsense defending, Kabugo brings a wealth of experience both locally and abroad.
On the domestic scene, he has featured for some of Uganda’s biggest clubs including SC Villa, URA FC, Victoria University, KCCA FC, Proline FC, and Lugazi FC.
His journey has also stretched beyond borders, donning the colors of continental giants AS Vita Club (DR Congo), Sebeta Kenema (Ethiopia), and Jwaneng Galaxy (Botswana), where he showcased his versatility and resilience at the back.
With the FUFA Big League set to kick off on Sunday, 28th September, Kabugo’s signing signals Bright Stars’ intent to storm their way back into the UPL, with four promotion slots up for grabs.
