- Entebbe UPPC vs URA – Fisheries Ground, Bugonga (4pm)
- Maroons vs Buhimba United Saints – Prisons Ground, Luzira (4pm)
- Mbarara City vs Vipers – Rwamanja Stadium, Kamwenge (4pm)
- SC Villa vs Express – FUFA Stadium, Kadiba (8pm)
Uganda’s oldest football rivalry takes centre stage on Saturday evening when SC Villa host Express FC in a thrilling Kampala derby at FUFA Stadium Kadiba.
The encounter pits two traditional powerhouses against each other in a fixture that has historically delivered drama, intensity and bragging rights in Ugandan football.
Villa approach the clash determined to remain within touching distance of the title contenders currently headed by Vipers SC. The Jogoos sit fourth on the table with 34 points, although their abandoned encounter against Calvary FC is still awaiting a final ruling.
Victory on Saturday would therefore be crucial for Villa as they attempt to strengthen their position in the race near the summit.
Defensively, Villa will rely on the leadership of Barasa Mangoli to contain Express’ attacking threats, particularly recent addition Kenneth Kimera.
Going forward, the hosts are expected to lean on Frank Ssebuufu, the striker who netted the decisive goal in the 1-0 victory during the reverse meeting earlier in the season. He could be supported by Mubiru, Patrick Kakande, and Ibrahim Kasinde in attack.
Villa will also welcome back Najib Yiga, who returns from suspension after missing the clash against Calvary due to accumulated bookings.
Meanwhile, Express will hope their recent reinforcements can inject fresh energy into the side. New arrivals Marvin Nyanzi, Kimera and the left-footed Asiimwe are expected to play key roles as the Red Eagles attempt to spoil Villa’s evening.
Elsewhere on Saturday, league leaders Vipers travel to face Mbarara City FC in Kamwenge, URA FC take on Entebbe UPPC FC in Bugonga, while Maroons FC host Buhimba United Saints FC at Luzira Prisons Ground.
