URA FC’s problems in front of goal continue to deepen, with change on the touchline doing little to arrest a worrying attacking drought.
The Tax Collectors rang the changes in December last year, parting ways with Alex Isabirye and handing the reins to Hussein Mbalangu in the hope of sparking a turnaround.
However, while the technical bench has a new face, the story on the pitch has stubbornly remained the same, blunt, wasteful and goalless.
That familiar narrative played out once again on Saturday evening at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, where URA FC were held to a drab 0-0 draw by Police FC in a tightly fought Uganda Premier League encounter.
The stalemate stretched URA’s goal famine to seven consecutive matches, a run that now stands as the longest scoreless spell in the club’s history.
Remarkably, the last time the Tax Collectors celebrated a goal was way back on 26th November 2025, during a chaotic 7-3 victory over Buhimba United Saints.
Since then, URA FC have endured 630 minutes of football without finding the back of the net, stumbling through a punishing sequence of results:
- URA FC 0-1 Kitara FC
- SC Villa 3-0 URA FC
- Mbarara City FC 1-0 URA FC
- URA FC 0-1 Entebbe UPPC FC
- URA FC 0-3 Vipers SC
- Calvary FC 0-0 URA FC
- URA FC 0-0 Police FC
As the first round of the season comes to a close, the numbers paint a grim picture. URA FC have scored just 13 goals in 15 matches and sit 12th on the table, only two places and a single point above the relegation zone. .
Police FC, on the other hand, will take plenty of positives from the draw and their overall first-round campaign. Under the guidance of Matia Lule, the Cops have consistently punched above their weight and finish the opening half of the season in an impressive sixth position with 28 points.
