Kitara Football Club have strengthened their push for silverware with the capture of experienced forward Muhammad Shaban, striker Edson Agondeze and winger Living Kabon during the secondary transfer window.
The Hoima-based Royals, guided by head coach Richard Wasswa Bbosa, are intensifying their hunt for the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League title.
Sitting just two points behind table leaders Vipers SC, Kitara have opted to add firepower and familiarity as the season edges toward its climax.
Shaban, widely known as “Jaggarson,” brings pedigree and leadership to the attacking unit. A regular face with the Uganda national football team, the forward previously featured for Onduparaka FC, KCCA FC and Vipers before exploring opportunities in North Africa and Ethiopia. His return to the domestic league is expected to sharpen Kitara’s edge in the final third.
Agondeze and Kabon are no strangers to the club faithful. Agondeze rejoins from Buhimba United Saints FC, while Kabon completes a switch back from URA FC.
Their familiarity with the club’s philosophy could prove invaluable during the demanding run-in.
Club president Deo Kasozi described the signings as timely and strategic.
“We are at a decisive point in the season. Bringing in Shaban, Kabon and Edson gives us the depth and quality required to compete strongly for the title. The dream is clear, and we believe this is the right step,” Kasozi stated.
Kitara are bracing for a crucial sequence of fixtures across league and cup competitions. They will host Entebbe UPPC twice at The Royals Park in Butema within ten days, first in the Round of 32 of the 2026 Stanbic Uganda Cup on 24th February, before meeting again in a league contest on 3rd March.
Further tests await, including away trips to UPDF, Mbarara City, KCCA and BUL, as well as a potentially season-defining clash against Vipers at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in April.
