Uganda’s U17 Boys’ National Football Team will return to action on Tuesday, 18th November, for a crucial Round of 16 clash against Burkina Faso at the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.
Burkina Faso sealed their place in the last 16 with a hard-earned 1–0 victory over Germany, setting up what promises to be an intense and highly tactical showdown with the in-form Cubs.
Uganda advanced after a spirited 1–0 win over Senegal in the Round of 32, a performance that highlighted the team’s growing confidence, discipline, and belief.

The Cubs have captivated fans with their fearless displays, including a memorable group-stage triumph over France.
However, the team will have to navigate this knockout tie without one of their key men.
Striker James Bogere, who has scored twice in the tournament, including the decisive goal against France, will miss the match due to suspension after accumulating two yellow cards.
His absence presents a major selection puzzle for head coach Brian Ssenyondo, who now turns to Simon Wanyama of Bukedea Comprehensive School.
Wanyama is expected to step into the starting role, giving the youngster a golden opportunity to rise to the occasion on the World Cup stage.
