The surge comes hot on the heels of a dazzling run in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where the Cranes humbled Mozambique with a commanding 4-0 triumph before taming Somalia 2-0.
Their spirited performance at the delayed 2024 African Nations Championship, where they marched all the way to the quarterfinals, further cemented their upward trajectory.
On the continental scene, Morocco continues to rule the African charts at 11th globally, followed by Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, South Africa, and Mali. Meanwhile, Spain sits atop the world rankings, ahead of France, Argentina, England, and Portugal.
For Uganda, this steady climb is more than just numbers, it signals consistency, resilience, and an undeniable ambition to break into Africa’s footballing elite.
