Uganda Cup – Kitara Face Off With Entebbe UPPC

Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Royal Park, Butema – 4:00PM

A high-stakes domestic cup duel awaits in Butema as Kitara host Entebbe UPPC in an all–top-flight contest with a place in the Round of 16 on the line.

The fixture stands out as one of five all-Premier League pairings at this stage of the competition, underlining its magnitude.

Both camps approach the encounter with momentum and renewed confidence, setting the tone for a fiercely competitive afternoon at Royal Park.

Kitara head into the showdown determined to capitalize on home support. Head coach Wasswa Bbosa is expected to parade fresh acquisitions Muhammad Shaban and Living Kabon as the Hoima-based side strengthens its attacking arsenal.

However, forward Edson Agondze will sit out the tie after being rendered ineligible, having featured for another club earlier in the tournament.

“We face a very good team with a strong technical bench and quality players, but playing at home gives us an edge,” Bbosa noted ahead of the contest.

The Royals advanced to this stage courtesy of a narrow 1-0 triumph over Obule Earth Quake FC, with John Bosco Byaruhanga delivering the decisive strike.

Entebbe UPPC, under the stewardship of Livingstone Mbabazi, travel to Butema equally determined to extend their cup journey. The visitors squeezed past Ombachi Pride FC in the previous round, thanks to a solitary effort from Fazil Tumwine.

“For now, the focus is on the Uganda Cup and not the league fixture,” Mbabazi emphasized, brushing aside thoughts of their upcoming league reunion with Kitara.

The Printers could hand a debut to recent recruit Samuel Nsubuga as they seek added sharpness in the final third.

Interestingly, Tuesday’s meeting is only the first installment of a double-header between the two sides within seven days.

They will lock horns again on March 3 in the league’s second round, amplifying the intensity surrounding this cup encounter.

Earlier this season, Entebbe UPPC edged Kitara 1-0 in their league clash at Bugonga Fisheries Playground under the guidance of Abdullah Mubiru. Yet history in this competition slightly tilts in favor of the Royals.

Kitara boast a flawless record against the Printers in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, registering victories in both previous meetings, a 2-0 win in 2024 and a 2-1 success in 2025 when Entebbe competed under the name Gaddafi FC.

Both teams receive a timely boost with the return of their captains. Jasper Aheebwa (Kitara) and Mustafa Mujjuzi (Entebbe UPPC) are back from suspension after missing their respective league outings, restoring leadership and stability in their squads.
