Uganda Martyrs University has secured their place in the 2025 Pepsi University Football League final after holding Bugema University to a goalless draw in the semifinal return leg played on Tuesday.
Having established a 2-0 advantage from the first leg in Nkozi, thanks to goals from Emmanuel Tumusiime and Richard Lagu, Uganda Martyrs did just enough in the reverse fixture to book their slot in the title decider with a 2-0 aggregate triumph.
The two-time champions will now face St. Lawrence University in what promises to be a thrilling rematch of the 2022 final, where Uganda Martyrs emerged victorious.
St. Lawrence sealed their passage to the final after edging Islamic University In Uganda (IUIU) 2-1 over two legs. This marks their third appearance in the last four finals, having finished as runners-up in 2019 and 2022.
This year’s grand finale is slated for April 27th, with both sides hungry to etch their names into University Football League history once again.
