Uganda U-17 ‘Cubs’ To Face Senegal in The Round of 32

Uganda’s U17 boys’ national team, The Cubs, will battle Senegal in the Round of 32 at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar on Saturday, November 15, at 3:30 PM.

The East African debutants booked their historic knockout berth after a stunning 1–0 victory over former world champions France in their final Group K encounter on Tuesday. Forward James Bogere scored the match-winning goal that sealed Uganda’s place among the best 32 teams in the tournament.

Uganda finished third in their group with four points same as France and Canada, while Chile exited on goal difference.

The Cubs’ fighting spirit and disciplined performances have won admiration across the continent.

Their next test will be against Senegal, who emerged as the only African side to top their group.

The West Africans finished first in Group C with seven points, making them one of the tournament’s standout teams so far.

Should Uganda overcome Senegal, they will face the winner between Germany and Burkina Faso in the Round of 16.
