Umar Kyebatala Joins Lugazi FC

Uganda Premier League outfit Lugazi FC have officially confirmed the acquisition of forward Umar Kyebatala during the ongoing mid-season transfer window.

Kyebatala has penned a two-year employment contract with the Leaders, sealing his move ahead of the second round of the campaign.

The club confirmed the development through an official statement published on their website.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Umar Kyebatala from Mbale Heroes FC,” the club statement partly read.

Kyebatala joins Lugazi FC from Mbale Heroes, where he spent one and a half years after completing a switch from Maroons FC in 2024.

Despite being regarded as a promising and energetic attacking talent, the forward’s progress has been largely hindered by persistent injury setbacks, limiting his chances of enjoying a consistent run of games.

Nevertheless, Lugazi FC have moved swiftly to secure his services, believing his potential and attacking qualities will add depth and firepower to their squad as they push for a stronger second half of the season.

Kyebatala’s football journey has seen him feature for Kibuli Secondary School and later St Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende, before earning a short spell at Vipers SC in 2019.
