Bishop Stuart University continued their impressive run in the Pepsi University Football League with a hard-fought 2-1 away victory over Africa Renewal University on Thursday evening.
The visitors showed intent right from kickoff, pressing high and creating early chances. Their efforts paid off in the 14th minute when Victor Ayebazibwe coolly finished past the goalkeeper after a delightful through pass from Arode Ayesiga.
Just two minutes later, Ayesiga turned scorer, unleashing a thunderous strike that doubled Bishop Stuart’s advantage and left the home crowd stunned.
Africa Renewal, however, refused to go down without a fight. Defender Mark Talemwa produced a brilliant goal-line clearance in the 25th minute to keep his side in contention, while forward Aldo Agaba missed a golden opportunity moments later when he fired over from close range.

The hosts eventually found a lifeline in the 72nd minute through Simon Ejemu, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to slot home and make it 2-1.
Africa Renewal continued to push for an equalizer, with Isaac Agaba coming close in the 83rd minute, but Bishop Stuart’s goalkeeper stood tall to preserve the lead.
Despite a spirited late surge from Africa Renewal, Bishop Stuart held on to secure all three points in a thrilling contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
