BUL FC have officially rung the changes on their technical bench, severing ties with head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko after a torrid run of results.
The decision comes on the back of a damaging five-match losing streak that has dragged the Eastern Giants into the lower reaches of the Uganda Premier League standings.
Kikomeko’s exit also sees his entire backroom team shown the door, with assistants Simeon Masaba and Noah Babadi Kasule departing alongside him.
BUL’s slide in form has been stark. Defeats against Kitara (1-0), Entebbe UPPC (2-0), KCCA FC (2-1), Vipers SC (3-1) and Police FC (3-1) proved too costly, prompting the club hierarchy to act in a bid to arrest the downward spiral.
Ironically, the dismissal comes less than a year after Kikomeko was celebrated for delivering silverware. The tactician guided BUL to consecutive FUFA Super 8 titles in 2023 and 2024, achievements that earned him a fresh two-year contract at the start of the current campaign.
However, football’s unforgiving nature has once again been underlined, with recent performances overshadowing past glory.
BUL FC are now positioned 12th on the league table, having collected just 10 points from 11 outings, a return that has raised concern among the club’s faithful.
With the season still in its early stages, BUL have already set the wheels in motion to identify a new head coach, hoping swift changes on the touchline can reignite their campaign and steer the team away from further trouble.
