Match Day 19 of the Uganda Premier League delivered mixed fortunes on Friday evening as Kitara FC were held by UPDF FC, BUL FC cruised past Calvary FC, while NEC FC claimed a vital away win over Lugazi FC.
At the Military Barracks Ground in Bombo, hosts UPDF FC shared spoils with visitors Kitara FC in a one-all stalemate.
The contest remained tight and goalless for much of the encounter, with both sides struggling to find the decisive breakthrough before the interval.
The game, however, burst into life in the final twenty minutes. Mid-season recruit Ivan Bogere broke the deadlock in the 71st minute to put the army side ahead.

Kitara responded strongly and eventually restored parity with ten minutes left on the clock. After Muhammed Shaban was fouled inside the penalty area, Living Kabon stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to level matters.
The draw saw Kitara move to 40 points from 19 matches, narrowing the gap on league leaders Vipers SC to just one point.
UPDF, meanwhile, registered their fourth draw of the campaign and now sit on 13 points from 19 outings.
Elsewhere, BUL FC delivered an emphatic performance as they hammered Calvary FC 5-1.
Forward Isaac Wagoina was the star of the show, bagging a brilliant hat-trick to inspire the dominant victory.
Jeromy Kirya and Karim Ndugwa also got on the scoresheet to complete the rout, while Emmanuel Ojok netted Calvary’s consolation.
The defeat marked Calvary’s 14th loss of the season, leaving them rooted on just five points after 19 league matches.
At Lugazi Stadium in Najjembe, NEC FC secured a valuable away victory against Lugazi FC.
Striker Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo struck twice to guide NEC to all three points in a composed display.
The victory marked NEC’s seventh win of the campaign and lifted them to 30 points from 19 games.
