Reigning Uganda Premier League holders Vipers SC return to the road on Wednesday with a tricky assignment against Lugazi FC at Najjembe, determined to maintain their unbeaten start to the campaign.
The Venoms head into the contest buoyed by a morale-boosting 3–1 victory over BUL FC in their last outing, a result that snapped a brief two-game winless spell and reaffirmed their title credentials.
Still untouched by defeat this season, Vipers will be keen to collect maximum points as the league schedule intensifies.
However, the visitors will be without key figures Allan Okello, Rogers Torach and Hillary Mukundane, all currently in national duty with the Uganda Cranes as preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations gather pace.
Their absence places added responsibility on the shoulders of Usama Arafat, Enock Ssebaggala and Karim Watambala to drive the champions forward.

Lugazi FC, on the other hand, will draw confidence from recent results despite their modest league position.
The Najjembe-based side sits 13th on the standings with 10 points, having registered two wins so far this term.
A hard-fought 1–1 draw against Police FC in their previous match showed resilience and fighting spirit, qualities they will need in abundance against the defending champions.
History suggests a tight contest between the two sides at Najjembe. Last season’s meeting ended scoreless, coming at a time when Vipers were under the guidance of Serbian tactician Nikola Kavazovic.
