The Uganda Premier League fixture between Express FC and Calvary FC, originally slated for matchday nine, has been pushed forward following issues with the hosting venue.
In an announcement released on Monday, December 1, 2025, the league confirmed that the encounter cannot proceed as planned after Express notified the UPL secretariat about the temporary loss of access to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
According to the communication, the facility will undergo urgent and essential maintenance beginning Tuesday, December 2, with the works expected to last two days. This development left the Red Eagles unable to host the fixture.
“We acknowledge receipt of Express FC’s correspondence regarding the short-term unavailability of Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo,” the league’s statement indicated in part.
The UPL added that a revised date for the tie will be issued once adjustments to the season calendar are finalized.
Express currently sits 12th on the standings with nine points from eight outings, while Calvary remains rooted at the foot of the table on a single point after seven matches.
